DR REBEKAH HOFFMAN

Teaching & Medical Education

An experienced medical educator with a sustained commitment to teaching, supervision, and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate medical training.

Since 2018, Dr Hoffman has contributed to medical education through academic positions with the University of Wollongong (UOW) and through clinical teaching within general practice. Her work spans curriculum design and delivery, student supervision, registrar training, and formal assessment, with a focus on preparing the next generation of general practitioners to have a passion for contemporary, evidence-based community care.

She teaches and supervises medical students from multiple universities, including UOW, UNSW, the University of Sydney, and the University of Notre Dame, supporting learners across different stages of training within real-world general practice environments.

Teaching Contributions

Dr Hoffman's teaching work includes:

  • Clinical teaching in general practice settings
  • Tutorials, small group teaching, and case-based discussions
  • Delivery of structured teaching sessions, workshops, and seminars for medical students through to Specialist GPs
  • Supervision of medical students during clinical placements
  • Supervision and support of GP registrars
  • Preparation of learners for clinical practice and examinations

Her teaching approach emphasises practical clinical reasoning, patient-centred care, and the integration of evidence-based medicine into everyday general practice.
